Drug Testing

ABH offers frequent and random drug testing at all levels of care. In addition, drug testing is available by appointment. All urinalysis are shipped to and analyzed at Redwood Toxicology Laboratory. Results are typically reported in one week.

Seven Panel Drug Screen

ABH utilizes a Seven Panel Drug Screen which includes testing for: Amphetamine (Methamphetamine), Alcohol, THC (Marijuana), Cocaine, Barbiturates, Opiates, and Benzodiazepines. In addition, specimens are tested for Creatinine, in order to determine drug levels in the system and screen for tampering. Urine is also monitored for temperature to reduce the potential of tampering.

Ethyl Glucuronide Drug Screen

In addition, a test for the detection of ethyl glucuronide (EtG) can be added. EtG is an alcohol metabolite that remains in the body and is detectable in urine for up to 80 hours after the elimination of alcohol. Fermentation is ruled out as a false positive. Also, the tests have cutoffs to rule out incidental exposure such as over the counter medication, mouthwash, food and nonalcoholic beers.
